The 100ft Folly Tower lies
to the east of the market town of Faringdon, in Oxfordshire.
It was built in 1935 and is claimed by some to be the last folly
built in England (although others might claim that honour to
belong to Goring Folly).
Faringdon Folly is open to the public at specific dates during
the year - these can be found at
www.faringdonfolly.org.uk. Here also can be found other
information about the tower.
Folly Hill, on which the tower stands, is 447 feet above sea
level and on a clear day, it is said, you can see for 25
miles.
